First Thoughts of India
I’m here! I finally made it after what felt like an eternity of travelling! 4 flights, 4 movies, 2 naps, accidentally eating both meat and gluten, 2 coffee...
The first few days were rough.I think eating all of the above, combined with the fact that I ate gluten here by mistake made me very sick. However, I am feeling so much better now thanks to the party that runs the Ashram-she is amazing! And made sure that I was well taken care of.
Her and her husband took me to the mall to go grocery shopping and have some McDonald’s. I bought some cool things at the grocery store that I can’t wait to try, and had french fries, a small ice cream and a small coke McDonald’s. I have to say, I thinkI have eaten at McDonald’s in every country I have ever visited. It’s great because you know what you are getting! Which is nice when you are in a country where you don’t know the language, or what you are eating.
So far my impressions of India are beautiful, the colours everywhere are amazing, it feels like I am on a movie set. Disorganized, due to the traffic going EVERYWHERE and the grocery store shelves being empty, untidy, there is rubbish everywhere and sadly stray animals. There was a rouge bourse outside my ashram rafter yoga this morning. It’s so sad to see. The people that I am in class with and that are at the ashram are so friendly and nice. Even at the airport and on the plane they would move out of your way, and treat you very kindly. More so than they do in Canada.
Now that I am well again, I will try to write daily on this blog, maybe even more if I have time:)
